In the spring of 2025 I began taking photographs of dogs at the local park where we walk Sam: the huge Deermound Off-leash Park in Strathcona County, Alberta. Some of the images were taken with my iphone and others with a Sony RX 10 Mark IV that I’m still learning how to use.

Dogs don't pose or get self-conscious about cameras. Which means every photo, even a lousy one like this, captures something true about them.

I wanted to catch this spaniel perched prettily on a picnic table, but she jumped and it's even better.
